Singer/Songwriter Santos Takes the Stage in Humanities Project Performances

Danny Santos.

Danny Santos melds the inspiration of his Chicano heritage, a musical legacy ranging from Hank Williams to the Beatles, and a Texas-sized determination to create a unique mix of country/folk tinged with bluegrass and the blues.  Santos’ songs illuminate the joys of true love, the woes of love lost and the weary longing of those still searching for love.

Santos was born in South Texas and began playing the guitar at the age of thirteen.  Singing and songwriting seemed to naturally flow soon after.  He was heavily influenced by the likes of Townes Van Zandt, Guy Clark and many others to create his own brand of quality Texas music.

Santos’ tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday, November 14th at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, November 15th. Santos will continue his tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday.  Wednesday he will entertain residents at Asbury Village and Manor House followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caneyon Friday.

The public is invited to the 10:20 a.m. Tuesday Humanities performances at CCC.  The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.  For more information call 620-251-7700, ext. 2145 or 2038.
