About Us
Coffeyville Community College is a comprehensive two-year institution of post-secondary learning. The College offers 19 academic programs, 18 technical programs and 14 certificate programs. Students can graduate from the College with one of five Associate Degree options.
The College consists of three campuses. The Main Campus is located in downtown Coffeyville. The other two campuses became a part of the College in 2001 following the merger of the former Southeast Kansas Area Technical School. Those two campuses that merged are now referred to as the Coffeyville Technical Campus and the Columbus Technical Campus. The Coffeyville Technical Campus is located directly west of Field Kindley High School. The Columbus Technical Campus is about 50 miles east-northeast of Coffeyville in Columbus, Kan., directly east of the Columbus High School.
Full-time faculty teach 91% of the total credit hours offered by the College. The College offers a distance learning program with the majority of those classes offered online. Students can earn an Associate in Arts degree totally online through this program.
The College has a head count of approximately 3,000 students each academic year. Approximately 54% of these students reside in Montgomery County.
The College offers numerous activity and athletic scholarships. The College also offers endowed scholarships, Presidential Scholarships for academically advanced students, Technical Scholarships for those attending the two technical campuses, and Gold Card Scholarships for community members over the age of 55 who desire to take interest classes tuition free.
The College also participates in student aid programs directed by the U.S. Department of Education including Pell Grants, loans and work study.
The College is guided by a six member Board of Trustees. The trustees serve four-year terms with public elections for half of the Board every two years. The Board sets College policy and determines the local property tax mill levy.
The College is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission. The school has a 10-year accreditation which will be up for renewal in the 2024-2025 school year. The College has been accredited since 1972.
State approval and oversight is provided by the Kansas Board of Regents.
