Humanities Project: Bovee Performs Week of Oct. 28

Bob Bovee will bring western and railroad songs of his past to the stage for Montgomery County residents.  Bovee is native to Nebraska and learned many of his songs from his grandmother and his Uncle Herman.  He plays the guitar, banjo, harmonica and autoharp; he also sings and yodels.  Bovee has been a fulltime musician since 1971, playing solo and in duos with his late wife Gail Heil or longtime friend Pop Wagner.

Bovee has played across the country as well as in Canada and Western Europe.  He has recorded numerous albums and is a frequent contributor to numerous music publications.  He currently lives in rural Minnesota where he runs the Lanesboro Barn Dance and the Bluff Country Gathering, a festival celebrating American traditional music.
