Coffeyville Community College is excited to announce the first performance of the Spring Semester in its Humanities Project: Sky Smeed, a talented folk musician and Kansas native. Born and raised in a one-room schoolhouse near Chanute, Sky has spent the past 16 years touring across the United States and overseas, sharing his heartfelt songs inspired by life’s journeys. With eight full-length albums and a music feature on NBC’s The Blacklist, Sky’s artistry resonates with fans of Gram Parsons, Neil Young, and John Prine, while his down-to-earth style draws comparisons to Todd Snider and Paul Thorn. Based in Lawrence, Kansas, Sky continues to create, produce, and collaborate with fellow musicians, and his work is frequently showcased on Kansas Public Radio’s Trail Mix.
