From the Gramophone to Spotify, Claudia Nygaard will explore the evolution of technology's impact on music. Claudia will begin her presentation with how music was shared before recording technology was available. From there, the program will take audience on a journey discussing the evolution of music technology from the Gramophone, 78-rpm records, the 45, AM and FM radio, 8-tracks, cassettes, CDs, Napster and modern streaming of music that will include an illustrative performance of a song from the various topics covered.
Claudia will perform at Coffeyville Community College on March 19th as part of the Humanities Project. The public is invited to the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday humanities performances at CCC. The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Performing Arts Theatre.
