The Lakeland Madrigals have been singing together for over 15 years. With a combined musical lineage of well over a hundred years, these singers carry melodies and counter melodies in four different vocal parts, spinning stories of love and heritage. Along with a variety of acapella 16th century ballads, they weave in a verbal history of this medieval genre of music and it's eventual popularity as it made it's way across Europe and beyond. Costumed in bright satin renaissance attire, the Lakeland Madrigals desire to spread hope and light wherever they go.
The Lakeland Madrigals will perform at Coffeyville Community College on Nov. 13 as part of the college's Humanities Project. The public is invited to the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday humanities performances at CCC. The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Performing Arts Theatre.
