The Women of Lockerbie Photo Album (opens in new window)
Coffeyville Community College kicks off the 2017-2018 theatre season with "The Women of Lockerbie" by Deborah Brevoort. The play will be performed Oct. 5-7 at 7:30 p.m. each night in the Spencer/Rounds Performing Arts Theatre. Admission is free.
The production is directed by first-year CCC Theatre Director Ryan Mahannah. The cast by order of appearance includes: Trevor Jones as Bill Livingston, Tylar Dougan as Olive, Bailey Jackson as Madeline Livingston, Kenzie Bauer as Woman #1, Katelyn Shearhart as Woman #2, Mikel Knipe as George Jones and Amber Holcomb as Hattie.
In the play, which was written by Brevoort with the structure of a Greek tragedy, a woman whose son died in the Pan Am Flight 103 bombing over Lockerbie, Scotland, discovers a group of women who are trying to collect the victims' clothing, which had been scattered across Lockerbie. They plan to wash 11,000 items as a symbolic gesture, but find resistance from a U.S. official. Brevoort won the Kennedy Center's Fund for New American Plays Award for her script.
