Two CCC students selected to All-Kansas Academic Team

Kansas will salute 49 top community college scholars for their academic accomplishments in an award ceremony Feb. 18 at the Ramada Inn Hotel in Topeka. These scholars have been named to the 2010 All-Kansas Academic Team, sponsored by the international headquarters of Phi Theta Kappa international honor society, the Kansas Association of Community College Trustees and the Kansas Council of Community College Presidents. This group of outstanding community college students will be recognized in an award ceremony that also draws educators and lawmakers each year. Each scholar was selected by his or her own community college for the statewide academic team, and each also is a nominee for the 2010 All-USA Academic Team, sponsored by USA Today, Phi Theta Kappa and the American Association of Community Colleges. Students selected from Coffeyville Community College for the 2010 All-Kansas Academic Team are as follows: William Fulls GPA: 4.0 Major: Political Science/International Relations Transfer Institution: Undecided Accomplishments: Kansas Region Phi Theta Kappa Vice President of Southern District; Phi Theta Kappa Chapter President and Provisional Members and Presidential Scholars Liaison; International and Kansas Region Distinguished Phi Theta Kappa member; Who’s Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges; CCC Outstanding Student of the Month; CCC Honors Program student; CCC Strategic Planning Committee; participant in National Defending the American Dream Summit, Tallgrass Prairie National Park Volunteer Day, many Phi Theta Kappa service projects. Falicia Mansfield GPA: 4.0 Major: Secondary Education Transfer Institution: Northeastern State University in Tahlequah, Okla. Accomplishments: Phi Theta Kappa Chapter Co-Vice President of Scholarship; CCC Outstanding Student of the Month; CCC Show Choir member; assisted with Phi Theta Kappa fund-raisers; participant in National Defending the American Dream Summit, Reading Is Fundamental, Junior Advisory Council, many Phi Theta Kappa service projects; President of South Coffeyville 4-H Club; Friends of Brown Mansion member.
