The Coffeyville Community College Wall of Honor Committee invites you to attend a dinner paying tribute to College Retirees and offer Special Recognition to Nancy Wright and Helen Ellerman for their outstanding contributions to Coffeyville Community College and their community. Each year, current faculty and staff nominate retirees who positively impacted the life of students at Coffeyville Community College and the community. Nancy Wright and Helen Ellerman will be the honorees at this year’s Wall of Honor Retiree Recognition dinner and program to be held on October 12th at 6 p.m. in the Coffeyville Community College Student Union.
Nancy Wright arrived in Coffeyville in 1966. She first started at Coffeyville Community College in 1969 and worked as a journalism instructor until 1972. She returned to CCC in 1986 as the Public Information Director in 1986 under then CCC president, Dr. Dan Kinney. She retired in 2003 under Dr. Bass. While at CCC she was recognized for the number one football book (program) in the nation of the 1990 National champion Red Ravens.
Nancy is a lifetime member of the Montgomery County Fair Association that produces the Inter-State Fair and Rodeo each year. She has volunteered at the fair in many different areas for the last forty years. She has been on the CRMC Foundation board for seven years and held the position of president for three years. She has volunteered for the hospital auxiliary for the last six years. She is a member of the Midland Foundation Board. She is very active in the first United Methodist Church and is a member of the state leadership team. She is also involved in the PEO Sisterhood which gives women wonderful opportunities. Her husband is Larry Wright and her children are Cari Redden and Cami Large. Cari currently teaches at CCC.
Helen came to Coffeyville in 1975 with her husband, Don when he was hired by CCC as an Economics Instructor. Mrs. Ellerman did not start her job here until October of 1978 when she was asked to write an instructional brochure for night class instructors. She was then encouraged to take a position in the Financial Aid department and remained there until her retirement 25 years later. At the time of her retirement she was the Director of Financial Aid.
Helen is currently holding her second term on the USD 445 School Board and has been on the selection committee, here at CCC, for nursing school candidates. She enjoys traveling with her husband, Don and recently returned from a visit to North Carolina. Helen and Don have one daughter, Sarah, who lives in Alexandria, Virginia and works at the Department of Commerce in Washington, D.C.
