Elaine Romanelli will be in Coffeyville the week of February 23 as part of the Coffeyville Community College Humanities Project.
Romanelli is a touring independent singer, songwriter, pianist and guitarist. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was raised in Manhattan, KS. Romanelli currently lives in New York City.
Romanelli’s performance, “Tracing the Thread: Songs Migration from Countries/Eras”. Her Irish ancestry will be evident as she traces her roots from Ireland to America, through renditions of Irish traditional music like “Parting Glass”, to Irish American parlor songs like “Danny Boy”, and on through to current hits from contemporary British Isles singer/songwriters like Sam Smith.
Romanelli’s tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday, Feb. 23 at Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 24. Romanelli will continue her tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday, Feb. 25, she will entertain residents at Pickwick Place, Asbury Village, and Dale Apartments followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday, Feb. 26, and the Caney Nursing Center and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday, Feb. 27.
The public is invited to the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday humanities performances at CCC. The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre. For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145 or 2038.
