Persons attending Coffeyville Community College graduation at 10:00 a.m. Saturday morning, May 7, at Nellis Hall will have the opportunity to participate in an international Phi Theta Kappa Society-wide civic engagement initiative. The title of the service endeavor is Project Graduation: Feed a Body, Feed a Mind.
This is the 10th anniversary for the CCC Eta Gamma Chapter to participate. The project began at Bergen Community College in New Jersey as a way to promote childhood literacy and to meet the needs of local food pantries in the Bergen community.
Phi Theta Kappa members honor their Service Hallmark while celebrating community college graduation, an important milestone in their lives.
Graduation attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food items and/or children's reading books to graduation. The items may be placed on a designated table in the Nellis Hall foyer. All items will be donated to local community service organizations.
