Coffeyville Community College-Columbus Technical Campus is offering an evening welding class. The class has been designed for residents who are interested in learning welding technique but do not wish to complete the full certification. The course will run April 14-29 on Mondays and Tuesdays from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the CCC Columbus Technology Welding and Construction campus.
“This is also an excellent opportunity to explore the field of welding as a possible career,” said Welding Instructor Todd Madl. “This class would be a great start for anyone interested in working in the welding field. I got my start taking a part time evening class in Coffeyville.”
Students can expect to receive instruction in one welding process (Stick, MIG, Fluxcored or TIG) or may bring in a small project to complete. According to Madl, “There are several professions and hobbies which require the use of welding. Many people who like to repair and fabricate things for themselves will benefit greatly from this class."
Students are required to bring their own welding helmet, gloves, pliers and safety glasses. Tools and welding supplies will be furnished. Classes will meet at the CCC Columbus Technology Welding and Construction campus at 912 W Powrachute Way in Columbus. For additional class information, if you have questions or would like to enroll please call (620) 429-3896.
