Coffeyville Comunity College Theatre presents "Crimes of the Heart" by Beth Henley May 1st through May 3rd in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre. Performances begin at 7:30 p.m., and admission is free.
At the core of the tragic comedy are the three MaGrath sisters: Meg MaGrath played by Mercades Price, Babe Botrelle played by Cheyenne Burgette, and Lenny MaGrath played by Ashley Lundblade. The three sisters reunite at Old Granddaddy's home in Hazlehurst, Mississippi, after Babe shoots her abusive husband.
The trio was raised in a dysfunctional family with a penchant for ugly predicaments and each sister has endured her share of hardship and misery. Past resentments bubble to the surface as they're forced to deal with assorted relatives and past relationships while coping with the latest incident that has disrupted their lives. Each sister is forced to face the consequences of the "crimes of the heart" she has committed.
Also in the play is Keiefer Lawson as Doc Porter, Jessika Hamrick as Chik Boyle and Justin Mostaffa as Barnette Lloyd. Michael Abbott is the production stage manager. The production is rated PG. For more information please call Artistic Director Mark Frank at 620-251-7700, ext. 2145.
