To replenish local food pantries, the Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Coffeyville Community College is sponsoring a campus wide food drive competition featuring teams from organizations, athletics, and the faculty. The chapter has set a goal of 2,000 non-perishable food items by the October 25 deadline. The winning team will have refreshments provided by the Eta Gamma Chapter, a traveling trophy, and presentation at the November Board of Trustees meeting.
Activities at the college eligible for participation in the food drive competition include athletic training, baseball, basketball, cross country/track, football, golf, rodeo, soccer, cheer and dance, powerlifting, and volleyball. Organizations include art, band, choir, digital media, NAL, quiz bowl, student government, theatre, and Phi Theta Kappa. Anyone in the community wanting to contribute to the food drive effort may contact Phi Theta Kappa at 251-7700 ext. 2076. A chapter member will pick up your donation.
