Consuelo Samarippa is a second general Texas native born in the west side barrios of San Antonio, Texas. She has been performing in the U.S. and Mexico for the past 16 years. Samarippa shares her Mexican/Indian heritage through history, folklore, folk tales and personal heritage stories and poetry.
Samarippa’s primary language is Spanish, but she quickly learned English when she started her education in Texas and she includes bilingual blends of German, French and Latin phrases in her multicultural tales. She also includes a sprinkle of Chinese in her stories.
As a writer, Samarippa has written many stories; but it was the historical story of four Scotsmen’s journey in Texas history that is recognized in the Texas Folklore Society’s 2007 Anthology - "Folklore in Motion, Texas Travel Lore." The anthology includes Consuelo’s story titled “The passage of Scotland’s Four”.
