Buddy Mondlock will be in Coffeyville the week of April 13 as part of the Coffeyville Community College Humanities Project.
Award winning songwriter Buddy Mondlock will give a talk about the legendary folk rock duo of Simon and Garfunkel. Mondlock has a unique perspective as he has written, recorded, and toured with Art Garfunkel. Together Mondlock, Art Garfunkel, and songwriter Maia Sharp wrote, recorded, and toured for their album “Everything Waits To Be Noticed” which was released on EMI/Manhattan Records in the fall of 2001.
Mondlock’s songs have been recorded by the likes of Garth Brooks, Nanci Griffith, Guy Clark, Joan Baez, and Janis Ian. In addition to songwriting, Mondlock has continued to make his own albums and tour internationally as a solo artist. His 2007 recording “The Edge of the World” won an Indie Acoustic Award for Best Male Singer Songwriter Album and his latest, “The Memory Wall” hit number 3 on the Folk DJ Radio Chart. Join Mondlock as he discusses Simon and Garfunkel and perform songs from each of their albums.
Mondlock’s tour in Montgomery County will start on Monday, April 13, at Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 14. Mondlock will continue his tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday afternoon. Wednesday, April 15, he will entertain residents at Pickwick Place, Asbury Village, and Dale Apartments followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday, April 16, and the Caney Nursing Center and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday, April 17.
The public is invited to the 10:30 a.m. Tuesday humanities performances at CCC. The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre. For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145 or 2038.
