Ken Gaines is a veteran performer knows as one of Texas’ finest and most well-rounded songwriters. He is also known as the “voice” of the annual Texas Music Awards with his regular role as the announcer for the event. Recently he was featured in the film, “For the Sake of the Song,” a full length documentary about Anderson Fair and its historic importance to Texas Music.
Gaines tours nationally and throughout his home state of Texas. He has been featured several times at the Kerrville Folk Festival. Gaines has recorded several albums: Catfish Moon, Real Men and No One Else. Gaines teaches songwriting seminars and his “Diet Tips for the Traveling Musician” has been featured at Folk Alliance International conferences for the past four years.
Please join us for Gaines’ tour in Montgomery County. It will start on Monday, February 24th at the Coffeyville Meal Site, Sycamore Landing and Windsor Place Assisted Living before arriving at the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on the CCC Campus at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, February 25th. Gaines will continue his tour of Coffeyville with Windsor Place, Windsor Place SCU and the Medicalodge of Coffeyville on Tuesday. Wednesday he will entertain residents at Asbury Village and Manor House followed by the students at Caney Valley High School on Thursday and the Caney Nursing Home and Guest Home Estates in Caney on Friday.
The public is invited to the 10:20 a.m. Tuesday Humanities performances at CCC. The performances are free and held in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre. For more information call 620-251-7700 ext. 2145.
