Eric Mueller, the 2013-2014 Eta Gamma Chapter President of Phi Theta Kappa at Coffeyville Community College, has just been named an international Guistwhite Scholar. Fifteen Phi Theta Kappa members were selected as 2015 Guistwhite Scholars. They were chosen based on academic achievement, leadership accomplishment and engagement in Phi Theta Kappa programs. The recipients were selected by a panel of independent judges from more than 1,700 applicants to receive this scholarship.
Eric becomes the fifth Guistwhite winner from the Eta Gamma Chapter. Previous Eta Gamma Guistwhite Scholars were: Samantha Quackenbush from Salina, Ashlie Golden from Independence, Jacqueline Moseley from Caney, and Maria Burris from Coffeyville. Being named an international Guistwhite Scholar is one of the highest honors in Phi Theta Kappa. Eric was one of two finalists for the international presidency of Phi Theta Kappa at the 2014 international convention in Orlando. Eric plans to attend the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
