Alexandria Black was selected as the December student of the month for the Eta Gamma Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa at Coffeyville Community College. She was recognized at the January CCC Board of Trustees meeting and awarded a certificate by President Linda Moley.
Alexandria is the daughter of Edward and Toni Black. She is from Herington, Kansas and graduated in 2010. While at CCC she has been active in the Choir and the West African Drum Line. She also serves as the Phi Theta Kappa Chairman for their Relay for Life service project. She has been instrumental in planning the group’s chicken and noodle dinner fundraisers and has organized several of the gym cleanings. She works part-time at Four County Mental Health as an aide for a ten-year-old.
In the future, Black plans to transfer to Pittsburg State University and major in Special Education with an emphasis on Elementary Education.
