Coffeyville Community College will host the North American Colleges & Teachers of Agriculture (NACTA) Judging Conference April 12-14, 2012. With the help of local volunteers and sponsors, CCC will host 13 contests that will test student skills in the agricultural field.
NACTA focuses on the personal and professional development of members through education and building relationships. Over six hundred students from across the nation will visit our area to compete in this nation-wide event.
"CCC students have been traveling to NACTA contest all over the U.S. for the past several years. It is an honor to be able to host this contest in Coffeyville and invite students to see what Southeast Kansas is all about. We look forward to some great contests and really putting together a great event," said Derek Dick, CCC Ag Instructor and NACTA President.
This year’s conference will host Ag Business, Horticulture and Horse Judging contests starting at 1 p.m. on Thursday. Thursday evening the first round of the Ag Quiz Bowl will be held in Weinberg Hall, with the final rounds to be held Friday night.
