Coffeyville Community College welcomes Amy Andrews back to the Spencer/Rounds Theatre on December 2 at 7:00 p.m. Concert is open to the public and admission is free.
Born in Baltimore and raised on the Chesapeake Bay, Amy was brought up on the sounds of Sinatra, Bonnie Raitt, country, and blues, but spent years training for a career in musical theatre and classical performance.
Realizing that she wanted to feel a greater connection to her audience (the kind of connection that large, formal concert halls tend not to allow).
Setting out to perform original music, Amy began her journey to folk musician by cutting her teeth as the lead singer of a Baltimore folk trio.
After a few tours through the southeast, Amy determined that an auspicious career move would involve relocating to the south - home of the Great Smoky Mountains, boiled peanuts, country music, and the performing songwriter's beloved Eddie's Attic.
Since relocating to the Georgia, Amy has toured extensively, with recent travels to the Pacific Northwest, Alaska, and western Canada, with festivals and shows in big cities, and long-forgotten gold rush towns.
Amy resides in Decatur, GA - land of the falling sweetgum limbs.
