Coffeyville Community College is once again awarding 6th grade students from Caney, Coffeyville and Tyro tuition scholarships to attend CCC after they graduate in 2021. CCC started this program to motivate and encourage students to stay in school and further their education.
In order to collect on the scholarships, students must meet three criteria when they graduate from high school in 2021. The student must graduate from a Montgomery County high school and earn a 2.5 GPA or higher to receive their scholarship. Also, students must present their certificate/ticket at the time of admission to CCC. Parents are encouraged to place the certificates/tickets in a safe location until the student graduates in 2021. Students also received a Ravens t-shirt that had “Future Red Raven 2021” on the back.
“We present these scholarships to 6th grade students to help motivate the students to do well in school and to provide families with resources for their child to attend college,” said Nicole Celeste, director of marketing at CCC. “We make each student a deal. If they work hard in school and earn at least a 2.5 GPA, we will help them achieve their goal of continuing their education after high school.”
