The music department of Coffeyville Community College has announced the dates of their spring concerts.
The first performance will be a solo piano recital by Khaymen Holt on Monday, April 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Spencer/Round Theatre.
Khaymen began playing piano at the age of 11 and by age 17 was composing and arranging his own music. The Greek composer and pianist Yanni has been a great influence on Khaymen’s style of composition. Upon graduating from Neodesha High School in 2013, Khaymen enrolled at CCC and studied piano with Amy Boatman. In 2014, he began studying with Kristi Reedy at CCC. Khaymen plans to attend Pittsburg State University this fall where he was awarded a piano scholarship. He will pursue his Bachelor of Arts in music and his future plans include working toward a degree in music therapy. In addition to piano, Khaymen also plays tenor sax, alto sax, and baritone sax. He also plays guitar and keyboard in the CCC combo band and sings in the CCC a cappella choir.
The second concert will be the CCC Band and Choir performance on Tuesday, April 28 at 7:00 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
There will also be a Piano/Vocal Department Recital featuring several students on Monday, May 4, at 1:00 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Theatre.
Admission to each concert is free. The CCC Instrumental Music Department is under the direction of Chris Goddard and the CCC Choral Music Director is John Gray.
