CCC Art Students Compete at the Verdigris Valley Art Annual Exhibit

David Beishline and Cindy Gonzales, both of Coffeyville, competed with their art in the Verdigris Valley Art Exhibit held at the Independence Historical Museum and Art Center.  Beishline won first place with his wheel thrown earthenware pot with hand-built handles.

Beishline works at Carter Automotive during the day.  He is a Fort Hays State graduate who enjoys working on his art during the evenings at the CCC Art center.

Cindy Gonzales of Coffeyville entered her charcoal painted still life.  She was awarded honorable mention for the picture she created at her home.

Gonzales is a part-time student at CCC who plans to finish her Associate degree and then transfer to Pittsburg State University.  She plans to major in math with a minor in art with the goal of becoming a high school teacher eventually.  Cindy enjoys her art and is currently working on illustrating a book and painting a portrait.
