Coffeyville Community College Fine Arts Department will be hosting its First Annual Dalton Defender Days Marching Band Festival on Tuesday, October 4, 2022, at Veterans Stadium from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm. Admission to get into the event will be $2 for adults and $1 for students/children. Come hungry, as there will be food trucks and concessions open during the festival.
The festival will host more than 1000 participants which will include 12 -15 bands from area schools such as Field Kindley High School, Independence High School, Caney Valley High school, and more. Each band will perform at certain times of the day and will be evaluated by adjudicators: Dr. Frank Tracz, Director of Bands at Kansas State University. Dr. Phillip Payne, KSUE, and Brad Shores from Bethel College. Conclusion of the Band Festival awards will be given out to the top-rated performers in certain categories.
"This is a wonderful opportunity for Coffeyville and the surrounding communities to support their local band. There's something here for everyone," said Dr. David Wiggins, CCC Band Director.
