Coffeyville Community College alumni, Curtis and Janice Harshaw believe wellness
plays an integral role in one’s success. To demonstrate this belief, they are
donating $1 million dollars towards a new wellness center that will be located on the
College campus.
A committee has been formed to explore the options for a state-of-the-art wellness
facility. The Harshaw’s are passionate in their vision to provide opportunities not
only for the students, faculty, and staff of CCC; but, to also provide a variety of
programs and courses for Coffeyville residents and surrounding communities.
The Harshaw’s have been long-time supporters of Coffeyville Community College
endowing three scholarships to honor their family who lived locally. When asked
why a wellness center at CCC, Mr. Harshaw stated, “We are huge proponents of
giving back. A wellness center affords benefits that impact the Red Raven family
and the community in which it serves.”
“Coffeyville Community College is committed to the success of our students and we are
consistently seeking opportunities to provide for those in which we serve.”, said CCC
President, Dr. Marlon Thornburg. “A wellness facility opens new doors of possibilities to
enhance program initiatives and increase collaboration locally that aligns with our
mission to provide a quality, affordable education”.
Coffeyville Community College will work closely with the Coffeyville Community College
Foundation to match additional donors with the gift received from the Harshaw’s to
ensure their vision and goals for a new wellness center are met.
This is the second $1 million dollar donation received by Coffeyville Community College
within the last six (6) years. Dr. Terry Powell presented the Institution with a gift of $1
million dollars in the Spring of 2015.
