Coffeyville Community College has announced that the Dick Foster Memorial will be held on May 8th, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. in the Nellis Hall Gymnasium. Coach Foster passed away on October 23, 2020, at the age of 86.
This event will also be streamed live on the KGGF/KUSN website.
Coach Foster had a career record of 146-25-2 at the junior college level including a mark of 127-23-2 at Coffeyville. He is the only head coach in NJCAA history to win a National Championship at two different schools.
While at Coffeyville Community College from 1975 to 1988, the Ravens ranked in the top 15 in the national polls every year and finished as NJCAA National Champs in 1983. His teams won 8 of the 11 bowl games in which they played.
Coach Foster was inducted into the CCC Letterman’s Hall of Fame in 1998 and was selected to the first class of the NJCAA Football Hall of Fame. He was selected as the Junior College Coach of the Year in 1970, and is a member of the Fort Scott Community College Hall of Fame.
