The Peanuts gang will perform a play, save a scrawny tree and discover the meaning of Christmas during a special presentation of "A Charlie Brown Christmas" at Coffeyville Community College on Nov. 16 as part of the annual Red Raven Holiday celebration. The CCC Repertory Theatre will perform the Charles Schulz classic at 6 p.m., 7 p.m. and 8 p.m. in the Spencer/Rounds Performing Arts Theatre. Admission is free.
The story:
The classic animated television special comes to life in this faithful stage adaptation in which Charlie Brown, Snoopy, and the rest of the Peanuts Gang discover the true meaning of Christmas.
When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When an attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas fir tree fails, he needs Linus’ help to discover the real meaning of Christmas.

The play is directed by CCC Theatre Director Ryan Mahannah. The Assistant Director is Tyler Allen. Markel Porter is the Music Director, and Kayla Semmel is the Stage Manager.
