Columbus Day proved to be successful for the CCC Columbus Technical Campus SkillsUSA Chapter. The event kicked off Friday with the bean feed and bingo. Many turned out and supported SkillsUSA by purchasing refreshments. A good time was had by all playing bingo and enjoying the entertainment brought to them by Redd T. Raven.
The CCC Ravens float participated in the Homecoming and Columbus Day parades. Each department within the school did their part with Automotive Service working on a car and Collision Repair painting a fender. Students from all programs enjoyed interacting with the crowd and handing out candy to parade goers.
Saturday, SkillsUSA hosted the annual Columbus Day Car Show. There were over 40 entries in the show. All entries received a dash plaque and the top three contestants of each class received a trophy. Special awards were given to the top two entries of Best of Show and SkillsUSA Choice. SkillsUSA would like to thank everyone for their support. All proceeds go to SkillsUSA to help students participate in state and national competitions. Results from the 2011 Columbus Day Car Show are:
