High School Students Qualify for Free Tuition in Technical Programs at CCC

Kansas high school students have new opportunities for Career and Technical training at CCC tuition free.  Under Senate Bill 155, tuition is paid by the State of Kansas for high school students to pursue college level courses in technical fields preparing them for high demand and high wage careers.

Coffeyville Community College offers several courses/programs that allow high school students to earn their certification prior to high school graduation.  Coffeyville Technical Campus programs that students may enroll in tuition free are:  Information Systems, Welding, Automotive Service, Precision Machining, Collision Repair, Construction, Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) and Certified Nurse Aide.

Programs at the Columbus Technical Campus eligible for this program include Automotive Service, Collision Repair, Construction, Welding and Certified Nurse Aide.

Technical careers offer the student many benefits.  Students reap the benefit of being ready to work in their chosen field in two years or less.  Students receive hands-on training using real tools and technology specific to their field and pertinent to their career.  Flexible programs allow students to go directly to work or continue on toward a bachelor’s degree in a field of their choice.

According to the Kansas Board of Regents, more than 64 percent of future Kansas jobs will require some level of college education. This initiative strives to address the need for a qualified and talented workforce for business and industry, in addition to promoting a strong economy.

To take advantage of this great opportunity, visit with your high school counselor or contact The Coffeyville Technical Campus directly at 620.252.7550 ext. 10. Students in the Columbus, Kan. area can call the Columbus Technical Campus at 620.429.3896.
