Coffeyville Community College Technical Division’s Information Systems program is designed to train students for entry level computer repair and networking positions with area business and industry. Instruction covers setup, configuration and troubleshooting of computers, servers, basic networks, and peripherals. Students will create Windows and Linux networks, including setting up file servers and networking client computers.
Students will receive hands-on experience in learning Microsoft, Linux, and Cisco networking standards, wide area networking (WAN) and local area networking (LAN). Students will be given instruction in the skills necessary for dealing with customers and customer networking problems in a business situation.
This course contains an overview of networking components and features, and includes information on network security, firewall technologies, and network management.
