Johnny Weil
Head Rodeo Coach
Johnny Weil of Edna, Kan. began coaching the CCC Rodeo Team in 2008. Weil has been riding and roping most of his life, including at the collegiate and now professional level. Weil holds a bachelor’s degree in Feed Science and Management from Kansas State University. Among his list of rodeo accomplishments include three-time American Cowboys Rodeo Association Finalist including 1995 Calf Roping Rookie of the Year, two-time United Rodeo Association Finalist including 2002 Calf Roping Finals Average Champion and Year-End Champion and 2006 United State Calf Ropers Association #3 World Finals Average Champion. Along with the rodeo career, Johnny has been successful competing at horse shows, being an AQHA Point Earner and in 2006 was the National Rope Horse Futurity Reserve Champion Amateur Calf Roper in Ft. Worth, Texas. Coach Weil puts a very high priority on the student athlete not only having themselves prepared to compete but also having their horses ready to compete at the highest level possible. Weil plans to have a 30-40 student team by 2010 including competitors in all events from timed events to rough stock and solid men’s and women’s teams. “I want students to leave Coffeyville more competitive than when they came and ready to finish a degree.”
