Jim Bob Morris, class of 1980, will be the honored alumnus at this year's Distinguished Alumni Luncheon during Homecoming week. The luncheon will be on Friday, November 1, at 12 noon in the Student Union Cafeteria. The cost to attend is $15 for an individual, or $25 for a couple. Morris played basketball, football and was a triple jumper on the track team while attending Coffeyville Community Junior College from 1978 to 1980. Morris was All-Jayhawk Conference in football and an NJCAA All-American in both football and track. He later played football for the Kansas State Wildcats and would go on to a professional career in both the U.S.F.L. and the N.F.L. including stints with the Green Bay Packers and Houston Oilers. He is currently the owner and president of several food packaging and ingredients companies including Morris Packaging.
Morris recently provided a generous donation to kick off the college's fundraising campaign to renovate the Dick Foster Athletic Complex.
