Information Technology Program

Information Technolog Student with Brian MorrisCoffeyville Community College Technical Division’s Information Systems Technology program is an exciting new offering.  This program will expose students to the most commonly used operating systems: DOS, Windows, Windows 95/98, 2000 Professional, Windows XP and Vista.  Instruction will cover setup, configuration and troubleshooting of microcomputers as workstations or servers.  Students will create Windows NT and Novell networks, including setting up file servers and networking client computers.

Students will receive hands-on experience in learning Microsoft NT, Cisco, and Novell networking standards, wide area networking (WAN) and local area networking (LAN).  Students will be given instruction in the skills necessary for dealing with customers and customer networking problems in a business situation.

Networking Lab
Networking lab provides students with
a real-world simulation of an enterprise environment.

Successful completion of one of the following is required to enroll in this program:  CCC/ATS Computer Repair Technology Program, certification in CompTia A+ or passing of a hands-on skills test administered by the program instructor.

This course contains an overview of networking components and features, and includes information on network security, firewall technologies, and network management.  This program provides training leading to the following certifications:

  • CompTIA Security+ Certification
  • Microsoft Certified Professional
  • Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator
  • CompTIA Linux+ Certification
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate

Certificate Program and A.A.S Degree
