Raven men place third in conference, women fifth, at Region VI Cross Country Meet

The Red Raven cross country teams competed at the Region VI Cross Country Meet held on October 27 in Colby, Kansas.  The women placed 11th in the region and fifth in the Jayhawk East Conference standings. 

"We were battling some people being sick over the last two weeks, but the girls really came to compete and that's all you can ask for as a coach," said Cross Country Coach Craig Perry.

The men placed seventh in the region and third in Jayhawk East Conference. 

"The men had a great race with five of our seven guys running their best times of the year," said Perry.  "The only guys that did not run their best in this race were coming back from injuries." [more]

Ravens compete at Chile Pepper Festival

The Red Raven cross country teams competed at the Chile Pepper Festival in Fayetteville, Arkansas, on October 18.  The men ran 10k while the women ran a 6k course. [more]

Raven cross country teams run at Cowboy Jamboree

The Red Raven cross country teams competed at the Oklahoma State University Cowboy Jamboree on October 4.  The men's team placed 20th in the college and junior college division.  The women's team did not have enough runners to place as a team. [more]

Raven cross country teams compete at Missouri Southern Stampede

The Red Raven cross country teams competed at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin on Saturday, September 20.  The Raven men placed 19th while the women finished 30th overall. [more]

Raven cross country teams open season at Cowley meet

The Red Raven men placed second and the women third at the season opening Cowley Tiger Cross Country Invitational on August 28 at Arkansas City, Kansas. [more]

Three Red Raven track athletes reached All-American status at the NJCAA National Outdoor Track and Field Championships held May 15-17 in Levelland, Texas.  Septembra Teuscher, Rashad Cannon, and DJ Bland were each named All-Americans due to performances at the national meet. [more]

Rashad CannonCannon makes All-American in long jump and triple jump

Until his junior year in high school, Coffeyville Community College freshman Rashad Cannon had never competed on a school track team.  Three years later, Cannon achieved All-American status at the NJCAA Indoor National Track Meet held recently in Charleston, Illinois.

Cannon recorded a jump of 7.55 meters (24' 09.25") in the long jump, finishing just 2.5" behind national champion Jeff Henderson of Hinds Community College (Mississippi).  In the triple jump, Cannon jumped a distance of 14.39 meters (47' 02.50").  [more]

Former Raven Julius Walker wins Big 12 title

Former Raven sprinter Julius Walker won the Big 12 title on March 1 in the indoor 60 meter dash.  Walker, running for Texas Tech, will compete at the NCAA national meet later in March and is one of the favorites to win the national title.  Walker, as a Raven sophomore last season, won the NJCAA national title in the indoor 60 meter dash.
