Raven cross country teams compete at Missouri Southern Stampede

The Red Raven cross country teams competed at the Missouri Southern Stampede in Joplin on Saturday.  The Raven men placed 19th while the women finished 30th overall.

Sophomore Seth Freeman set a personal best time, finishing the 8k race in 28:09.

"Our men's team ran very well," said Head Coach Craig Perry.  "I was very happy with our finish despite having one of our top five guys not finishing."

On the women's side, freshman Letti Zapata led the Ravens' contingent with a 5k time of 21:47.  Zapata's time places her fifth all-time on the school's list of top women's cross country performances.

"I am very proud of the way both teams competed at this early season meet and we look for better times when we run at the Oklahoma State Jamboree in Stillwater on October 4," said Perry.
