Ravens sweep Hesston

Both the Raven men's and women's soccer teams came out winners in a sweep of the Hesston Owls on September 18 at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Coffeyville.

The Raven women dominated the Owls, 5-0.  The Ravens took a 2-0 lead in the locker room at halftime on goals by Ashlee Muninger and Jessica Hubeli.  Paige Feikert assisted on Muninger's goal and Brittany Meza had the assist on Hubeli's goal.

The Ravens would extend the lead to 3-0 at the 12 minute mark of the second half when Jacqueline Bernitt scored a goal with an assist by Meza.  The lead would grow to 4-0 at the 20 minute mark of the second half when Lauren Reed scored on an assist by Bernitt.  The Ravens' final goal of the evening was scored at the 35 minute mark of the second half when Meza scored with an assist by Feikert.

The Ravens took 27 shots on goal and limited the Owls to just six shots on goal.  The women improved to 4-2 overall on the season.

The men's game was a much closer affair.  The lone goal on the night was scored by the Ravens' Brunno Santos with an assist being credited to Lucas Pereira.  The goal occurred at the 25 minute mark of the seven half.

The Ravens had 15 shots on goal and held the Owls to just four shots on goal.

The win improved the Ravens to 2-3-1 overall on the season.

Both teams return to action on Sunday, September 21, when the Ravens host Garden City at Veterans Memorial Stadium.  The women's game will begin at 10 a.m. followed by the men's game at 12 noon.  Admission to Red Raven soccer games is free.
