CCC
premieres all guy dance team
Coffeyville Community College (CCC) debuted its first all
guy dance team at the football game on Saturday, Sept. 27. Dance Coach, Amy
Folkerts, was recruiting dancers and managers when she found a group of young
men interested in showing off their talents. The six men of the Premiere Dance
Team performed hip/hop and krumping moves to an excited crowd.
“This is a high energy group who bring a different kind of
entertainment to the area,” said Coach Folkerts.
The name “Premiere” signifies that this is the first group
of its kind not only for Coffeyville but the region. Folkerts hopes to have 12
to 15 young men on the team by next fall. Scholarships are available for
students interested in the Premiere Team.

It’s a great year to be a dancer! Our scholarships currently include books
and tuition. It also can include nearly all dorm expenses, if eligible for the
Kansas Enhancement. To find out if you are eligible please contact
Coach Amy Folkerts. Due to our success this
year, we are looking to expand the team next year and our tryouts will be more
of a “placement tryout”. Individual tryouts and campus
visits can be set up throughout the summer. We are dividing
the team into two different groups based on their level of experience and
interest in different performances such as Nationals Competition, etc.
Scholarships can be awarded prior to tryouts so contact Coach Amy as soon as
possible if you are interested because housing is limited!
